weak AI ???

Hi there,
Just started with TA:Spring, to practice I began with a game against a bot but it appears to be very very useless.
I create my base with level 1 factories and created defenses and didn't see the AI attacking so I went on to the base and after 30 minuts of me building my base I found their commander with ONLY 1 single metal extractor build. Nothing else.
Do I have to download other AI to have the AI attack me ?
Yes, I made sure the AI Bot was not an 'allie', their commander attacked the units I sent to them and so did my bots once they spot him.

send a flea/ak or a jeffy/weasel at it and it will build stuff.

The AI was AAI.dll
The Mod was BalancedTAV6.1
I tried again, this time it did attack me constantly.. guess it was Spring.
Thanks for the command, will use it if it happens again.

Certain Ais malfunction on certain maps, that is, stop doing stuff. Ais are all around weak and stupid also so dont be surprised if you see hovers on land or things like it :)

Try KAI or RAI, they might work better on that given map.
However, nothing compares to human players, so I'd recommend coming and playing online through the lobby :)

Try playing against one or more KAI bots on comet catcher. You can add a handicap as well if it seems too easy.

i can beat pretty good players in 1v1 sometimes but i cannot even survive against, much less actually defeat, kai. Havent tried rai, and aai is easy to pwn quickly, but otherwise equally ridiculous :). I think the computers are better than the humans, or there is some funny little monkey in the computer pushing all the buttons in just the right way.....

Computers have the potential to be better, but they need to be programmed to act right in pretty much ever possible situation for that to be, as they dont have creativity... :)

I usually play against 3 KAI to playtest P.U.R.E., and usually win. AIs are ultimately rather predictable, and have lots of weaknesses that are easily exploited.

Actually, as a noob, I'm having trouble winning against AAI. I have played on different maps and I'm happy is not as pasive as the AI from the original game. So far I know how it'll start the game but by doing stuff just to test it, I've seem it adapts.
I mined the terrain it was using and it started using planes, I put more air defense and it choose another path, later it created a long range heavy artillery and it sent only level 1 units to know where to point the artillery.
The only thing I don't like is that I feel it 'cheats' like the original game, it seems to create a very big base while I'm with a small base and with no trouble getting energy and metal. The original game used to get energy and metal out of nowhere too, i.e cheats.
Great improvement over the original will try the other AIs to see their differences.

So far as I'm aware, AAI does not cheat on resources.

try speccing some games of it playing. Even better, spec some real players playing (ie humans)

YA, thats their problem :) They play well on essence but cant deal with incommon tactics.

Really ? doesn't cheat on resources.. it gave me that impression.

You probably didn't expand enough. You could watch some people play then try playing some games online.

There are a lot of players that give that impression, but none of then are actual cheating :) (Spring problems with sync also make it impossible to cheat unleash you are host)

Most mods are based on the original game, but none plays like it :)

The only way the host could cheat would be by altering the orders people give, and that would be noticed in roughly 2 seconds.
