Yeah - before we get like 3 different sources you should join forces for a single, stable solution with more features... :-)

Yes, i understand how everyone wants to make their own awesome site. However, everyone needs to work TOGETHER to make 1 awesome site. Minimaps are important. Also, implementing the spring engine in a java applet is a good idea so you can test out the mod in your browser before you download. Please please please make a music player. I refuse to use any site other than springplayersclub until they use that awesome music player. I have that open and running whenever i play spring.

I, for one, welcome our mirrored overlords. When one of the new disappears from the net, there'll be others to immediately take over.

true

Similarly, the community decides if this new site is uf's replacement.

Its an OK site right now. Needs a lot of work both visually and functionally, but it definatly has potential.

I think it needs to go here, when people log in. It's an issue of "where do I click", new users will find it confusing if they aren't directed straight to the files.

At any rate, I think it's wonderful that you're putting up a host like this, the community's been really hurting without one.

... which is how we ended up with this mess, in the first place...

The spring site has managed to stay up for several years. If UF was still up it would still be a fine file storage site. No one could have predicted when we moved to UF that cuppy would be so busy at school he would be unable to do basic maintenance on the site.

Nothing against UF, but if it can't stay up we need an alternative.

If your gonna redesign it a "robotic/warfare" feel to it would be a good choice with maybe some a nice background.

If it has a "spring" style to it when the community decides to actually start advertising spring more the web site will be a good representitive of the spring engine.

New players that will want to take a look at Spring will have to download it thus the website will be their first impression.

There's some truth in this but the difference is that this way you wouldn't have just one person being responsible for everything and you aren't totally fucked up if you cannot reach him when problems occur what is the current situation. So form sort of a small team and make a new UF with more features (I'm especially looking at what Trademark recently did)...

Cup never declared it dead, he simply declared it none of his business.

Gota are you a person, or are you one of those bots like intelligent irc bots. I guess your programmed/real person answer would be the same, whatever.

Its a nice looking site. WIth enhancements and love I think its a good "replacement"
