what is the new spring unit format

You just asked in the maps forum and they said NO, you think people here think otherwise?

As for the unit format, it's exactly the same. Just drag and drop stuff into your Spring folder and it will add just like normal.

thatd be cool... can you have multiple model formats at once? if you can it would be great to have a large amount of supported formats...

While the Unit format is exactly the same, Spring doesn't read and use gaf files as far as I know. You have to manually convert those. (Buildpics, Textures)

It reads buildpic gafs fine, just textures that need extracting. ;)

From faq:

You stated that TA Spring uses the TA unit format.

TA Spring does use the Total Annihilation unit format. However, we do plan to make TA Spring compatible with a custom unit format of our own design.

Maybe he is refering to that.
Someone knows about it?
