On another note, Secret Maryo looks cool, and Nethack got an honorable mention. Otherwise, I've pretty much seen and heard of everything else.

We are there but spring got a shitty description.If i didnt know it i wouldnt download it after reading that.

If spring was user friendly it wuld have deserved being on a top 5 list.

I personally dont find spring hard to manage, I was able to get into a game in the first try (after downloading the stuff), consequently ruining the game for anyone who was in here with impressive levels of noobage...

maryo is quite fun... too bad it has no story nor bosses

Does anyone have an opinion on this Battle For Wesnorth?

I played an earlier version, and it felt like a bunch of cut out icons moving around on the screen. That's not to say there's no strategy involved, but turn based is not my game.

lol we didn't even get an honorable mention... if you ask me... the gauntlet is thrown...

Battle for Wesnoth is cool but the random factor is big enough that it gets really frustrating, while being small enough that people can say that anybody who cares about it is whining.

Wesnoth is very cool imo, well developed balance, and the random element is not actually that huge; it's pretty rare that a game can be decided on a single "dice roll".

The multiplayer lobby is fugly tho, and it lacks a lot of the more basic necessary functions imo, the inability to switch back to the main lobby once you have hosted a game, without closing the game, is a big problem imo.

With ICEUI, Spring is more user-friendly than some commercial games I play. Actually the default UI is good now too.

Spring is user friendly... the main mods are not :) BA takes forever for you to learn all the things that you must and must not do to win...

Im talking about key shortcuts im talking about unfriendly lobby im tlaking about ...zzzzz...what was i talking about?
