Until the latest beta is released, we can only work on the storyline.

The original storyline was scrapped as it was decided along with the CA devs a while ago that it will not be related to the ARM and CORE war in the first TA.

Why not just "robots buried in an abandoned planet in the dawn of time by a unknow force have awakened. They come in 2 variations called "arm" and "core". The robots have been programmed to find and destroy a set of other similar robots, while ignoring everthing else, for unknow reasons. Tremble all who stand in their path!"

That would justify our battles where arm and core team up/fight thenselfes :)

You need a story? Lots of games do just fine without a story, even though they have a single-player campaign. Here's you, here's the bad guys. Today, you have to out-produce them. Tomorrow, you have to break through their lines. And so on.

So a bunch of robots are fighting a huge war but they realised their predictable machine tactics were never going to give them "the edge" so they found a planet full of smart lifeforms and sent them a game called Spring via their internet so they could watch how we command their armies and learn new tactics.

A full beta release, so we don't get penalized by IP from making a campaign, probably when we have new models and the sides are renamed :o

CA is working on, and has mostly established, the bare bones of its storyline premise (Yes its still two factions of robots fighting eachother).

But stuff like a total remodelling of 400+ units and freedom from TA IP is waaaaaay down the track. Its going to take a long time. We are following the dev/stable release pattern at the moment and probably wont be changing it any time soon. CA is about innovation, progression, new features and new ideas. There might come a day when we settle down into the BA thing and freeze out new features- but its well in the future. Right now, we have a range of short term goals, a range of long term goals, and anything that we pick up along the way that we think fits, we will fit in.

But CA is open source. You can do what you like with it. You can make a campaign focused around arm and core, but just be aware that is all going to be changed in CA. You can spin grand stories of new battles between the arm and the core, but just understand that that isnt the CA storyline. You can make a campaign based on the new story, but it may be a while before the new story is fully introduced. You can make a campaign without any solid story, just a gameplay demonstration.

And thats what i suggest you do, if you do want to make a campaign, you need to start working on the skills and gathering the experience needed to make a quality one. Make a few single player missions. Maybe string them together, etc. Just start working on it. Write some background story, some fluff, if you like, but people are probably not going to read much beyond the mission briefing unless you are a really good writer with a particularly compelling story.

Do you want to know what the new story is? Ask me. Its a work im progress so most of it is still in the verbal development stage, as that allows more flexibility.

Here's you, here's the bad guys. They tried to shut down the orphanage so they can build a shopping complex in order to fund their flying LRPC which they will use the dominate the world, and they killed your brother while he was trying to stop them.

fixed.

Why not also drop "annihilation" from the name...

OTA doesnt have a trademark on the word 'Annihilation', but yes in the long run, we might well do that.

Cant obvious copies be processed too? Like, the first word from one has the same meaning than the first word from other and the second words are the same :)
