What formats can I use a model of to get a 3do? can I do it with 3ds? What software can do it for me?
Thanks in advanced.

I don't have 3DS, I was just wondering what formats would be useful.

You export each independent piece of the model as LWO (lightwave object) or dxf. LWO tends to work better. Then you go into 3do builder and import each piece forming a hierarchy of pieces, with children and parents and whatnot. Then you texture it and blah blah blah...

Thanks! That was a far more concise answer than I expected... Also, another question rising from your answer, do 3do files have UV's?

No. You texture each polygon manually in 3do builder. Only four sided polygons (squares/rectangles) can have textures, any triangle or polygon with 5 or more sides must be flat colored. Hopefully the SYs will program in better 3d model support with UV mapping and such in the future, though.
