as an oldschool gamer vet you might have blazed through all the mario games and have the best run jump platform micro in town, but really, all along that was just a warm up to cat mario

fire it up and it looks just like mario... except you are a badly animated cat. The game even follows the original mario levels... only this time, things are a little diffrent. you start with 2 lives, and can reach a maximum debt of -999 lives... and sadly you will need all of them. there are only four levels, but that isnt all that much consolation.

A small sample of pleasures involve the scenery collapsing on you, monsters jumping exactly when you do, clouds growing teeth and killing you, invisible coin boxes appearing at just the wrong moment and plummeting you into holes...
I think its safe to say completing this makes you man. Took me 82 lives on my first attempt. best gaem ever!

This game is best watched on youtube. Playing it may result in computers flying out of windows and stuff.

i got to end of the first stage pretty easily (watched the youtube videos), but i couldn figure out how the hell they jumped over the flag pole in that first stage.

Try "I wanna be the Guy!" its a million times ahrder, and more entertaining imo (to watch on youtube, not play - i DLed it ages ago and i died over 100 times before i killed the first boss, 3rd or fourth screen, assuming you take the obvious route) not touched it since :p

It's easy to make a game too hard or too easy. It's hard to make it just right.

the cat can walk over 99% nothing as long as hes touching a single pixel of floor so you can get a pretty good runup for the first flag if you edge all the way back over the first step, then you just have to run all the way out toward the otherside before jumping- taking advantage of the bugs is the only way. also, the first level is easy- its the second, third and fourth where the going gets tough :p

got it in <200 lives.

The secret and hardcore levels for Mario Forever are more interesting imo.

I could tell within a few minutes of watching it was a click game

My favorite platformer of all time is Jumper by Helix Games. The game manages to be incredibly addictive at the same time as being ridiculously difficult and entertaining. It also manages to do all this without relying on surprise popups.
