6 is river dale..
3 is sunken outpost..
River dale was by far the best spring map for a very long while.. how lordmatt forgot it I dont know..
Sunken outpost was meh, somewhat porcy with some screwy metal layout..

Um wow, I play it all the time (I even made the spring installer secretly fix the nasty multiple versions bug that had been plaguing it). I guess it's because I never play it on the left side of the map.

4. The greatest map of the old spring era, that sadly has never been remade. I won many a game here when spring first came out

Interesting, but not overly informative

thanks alot.
Sunken outpost looks awesome.
So that is riverdale. I must play that now, especially since it is now installed with spring. 4 looks really cool. It wont work with new spring? Can I convert it somehow?

Now there's a word I dont like
I cant seem to find an old version of spring capable of running this sm2 format, any idea what the original size was?

I miss Green Isles SOOO much.
/edit/
I just remembered that i downloaded a converted version a long time ago. It still works with the current version of Spring. However, it doesn't have Mex textures like the old one did.
That and I need to redo the start pos (the guy who did it didn't leave any.)
So if there is any interest. Let me know.

Sunken Outpost was notoriously bad in it's day, actually. The sandy perimiter and edges of the concrete were deceptively high slopes that made hovers and amphibs useless, and it was done at a time that crushstrength was brand new and rarely used, so the map became an impossible hellhole of wreckage and DTs.
However, since most mods have buffed their slope-tolerances and modders have long since come to grips with crushstrength, it might play better now.

IIRC the mex textures were the regular greenworld ones. Ofc make a remake someone.

Sunken outpost is a very bright map, turning on reflections blinds your units. The map was made before reflections where though, or at least prior to shadows and reflections being separated into individual options.

btw, about number 7:
can hlts, hllt, and annihilators etc shoot over plasma walls in BA? CA? This movie shows some bad ideas, like a lack of any air support or long-range artillary to rip those armys and defenses apart. However, it still looks awesome.
