Spring extremely slow most of the times on new computer

Hello
i'm writing here cause i'm having serious problems with spring on my new computer
The computer is a laptop Samsung with A Core 2 at 2ghz, 2048 Mb of ram and a Geforce 8400. I had vista on this computer but reinstalled XP with proper graphic drivers
I thought the computer may be totally fast enough to run spring cause my old comp (Core 2 1,6Ghz with geforce 7400) did run it well enough.
Now when i host a game alone and play (single player), most of the time it's ok and sometimes it do a strange bug ( i imagine it is).
When i play with other players it do the bug almost everytime
The bug is just a big slow down of the fps count, like i play with 10 fps. The more i zoom out, the slowest it is, and even if i run in 800*600 it's almost unplayable. It's also slower around the center of the map.
Before anyone ask the settings are already with everything turned off, basic water, particles at 1000 etc.
please help me i don't want to renounce to spring but playing in theses conditions is worse than not playing i think
