How can I get the OTA .exe on my computer so I don't need the CDs to play OTA?

Mount the Cd via Daemon tools.

Should be easy enough to read up on if you search google/read the faq/help stuff for it.

oh man... there's this whole huge awesome process for that where you extract all the files and then repack them up and in this one file and then you run a crack on the exe to make it run locally... hmmm... let's see where I found it... think this was it.

On the TA cd there's a file, in the root folder, it's only small.

Copy paste it into the root folder of another drive or into your TA folder.

man... when you ask a question like that, linking you to a site that has instructions on where to hex-edit the exe file seems like a waste of time now...

The root folder of the C:\ drive is C:\

The root folder of the D:\ drive is D:\

The root folder of the E:\ drive is E:\

The root folder of the C:\ drive is NOT C:\windows

Sorry for being a lamen in this department :( . Ok I'm confused, whats the file in the root folder and whats the root folder on the cd?

P.S. If you would please not drop this it would be greatly appreciated. I almost have it, I'm just not clear on the terms.

I think he means TOTALA.ID, which is a text file that you can edit so it says =1 for both campaign and skirmish, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to test, but the TA installer is acting up.

Edit: well I got TA installed and copied both that and the setup .exe. Not working. I have no idea what AF is talking about...

Edit 2: Here is what I have always used: http://tazone.tauniverse.com/maps/TA-Thing2.zip

If putting it directly in the ta folder doesn't work put it into the root folder of your hard drive. I think that putting it directly into C:\ drive wont work though so if you have just 1 hard drive with 1 partition you may be buggered. That's why I used to put TOTALA.ID on all the cds I burnt.

I put it in F:\, C:\, and C:\CAVEDOG\TOTALA\. None of those worked. Weird.
