Spring RTS Engine

Yo, i've returned from the dead to tell you that the new version of Empires is out! After holding back on updates for about a year now, it's finally out. And it includes:

New Features
-All first person weapon models, animations, and sounds have been redone
-Rifle weapons now have iron sights
-Player weapons and vehicles have been completely rebalanced
-Four all new maps: Cyclopean, Glycen City, Streets Of Fire, and Urban Chaos
-Performance and network optimizations
-New vehicle engine sounds
-Lots and lots of bug fixes

Basically it's an FPS/RTS hybrid which plays kinda like BF2 and Quake wars, only more arcady.

There are four distinct classes, a full research tree, a custom vehicle creation with custom armour, weapons and engine selection and lots of other stuff.

I had fun playing it, but things started getting weird: images wouldn't appear, several things randomly became untextured and at one point several Brenodi tank models were replaced with error models.

I'm quite certain this is my computer's fault, though. It's been doing this with games / mods on the Source engine for a while now...

whats the cheapest HL² package I need to buy to be able to play all this 3rd party mods like gmod,hidden source forts etc?
(I dont really care about CS or singleplayer)

Orange box is 50 dollars/euros, HL2 alone is maybe 20.

No nemppu, it isn't. The orange box is about 50 euros here, 45 if you're getting it off amazon. Importing = extra costs anyway.

the prices are the same for people on different continents on steam anyway

According to some random site it's about 42 euro on steam, that's ~60 USD.

Tried downloading it... it said the archive is corrupt

In an ideal world we'd get games cheaper because our currency is strong. Unfortunately game companies love to rip Europe off so they assume a 1:1 exchange rate or worse (50$ console games cost 60€)
