That was one thing Gmod had. I was admin on about 6 servers, I didn't take crap like that.
In my opinion, they should just force everyone to depend on the OTA content from the install directory, and possibly discs, that'll shut 'em up.

How is that relevant?

Cause most, if not all kids don't have OTA. That'll make 'em leave.

The best path for a free game which has lots of free mods is to force everybody to have a CD for a 10 year old game in order to play.

It's the mod's job to include a resource ripper that takes an OTA CD to rip the game data from instead of just including it in the sd*. Without that distributing the mod is copyright infringement.
BTW, I seem to recall someone getting banned for bad conduct in games.

This thread is clearly going nowhere.
We've had this conversation many, many times before.

I am going to back this statement up as well. There is no changing it there is not making any sense as it apparently gets to be included no matter what points we have brought up in the past.

ota content is not going to be included in the next installer. Mods will be downloadable as a part of the installation process so there will be no "default" mod. Mods requiring ota content will need to have that downloaded and installed at the same time as the mod is downloaded and installed.
huh

And what of the people who already have Spring installed, I don't think we'll game that many players for .76.

Well they'll still have it installed. I don't see any issue with that.
