Timothy, please. Writes sci-fi, has been doing it for several decades. Occasionally good, almost always readable, never brilliant. I have several of his novels in my wall o' books here. Not a genius like Bradbury, Gibson, Drake, Simmons, Lovecraft or Verne... but fun and occasionally very creative. He likes doing experimental cross-genre stuff, among other things- it's a pity that he just isn't a very strong writer, merely competent.

I loved his additions to the Star Wars universe when I was younger. +1 to most of what Argh said: he's competent. Neither amazing nor terrible. Of course, he looks pretty good compared to the hacks who wright most of the SW books.

It's Timothy Zahn you whore. And yes he's pretty good. The 5 Thrawn books were pretty decent. I like blue geniuses.
