Problem with hosting

Since 75b2 has been released I cannot host for more than 4 people, anymore than that and the pings go crazy 1-2 minutes into the game.
I could host fine before in 74b3 and all other versions before that, so has something been changed in the hosting code O_o? I've even orderd a new modem from my ISP and bought a new router, neither has worked
Oh and I'm on fibre optic broadband, 400k up 4000k down (REVENGE has same speed as me and hosted a 32 player game with no lag <.<)
So any help would be appreciated, because I'm all out of ideas ~_~
Thx
*edit* I have no firewalls and ports are forwarded

Scan for viruses, recheck ports, system specs, etc.

specs:
AMD sempron 3400+
Nvid Geforce 7600 GS
1024mb ram
300 GB HD
Windows XP SP2
I do virus/spyware scans regulary, so I'm not infected with anything

Flop, this would be a minor warning. Not an acceptable statement in reference to somebody else on the forums. - Neddiedrow

I know nothing....but is it possible that there's a disconnect between the server and you? I know for a period of time I couldn't connect to some European sites because of something like that. (I know this is different because you can actually connect and set up a game)
I'm also curious about "and the pings go crazy." Basically after playing for a bit, the ping starts to shoot up, and you get disconnected... Is this a connection problem with you to the other players?

It seems like this is his main question. since I just lurk here...I know nothing. does anyone else?

Yea that's basically what happens, the pings just keep rising no matter if I pause or not, then I lose connection to lobby
huh

Are there other pc's on your network? It may be your ram, or other pcs interfering, a 32 player server takes a lot of resources, make sure you aren't running extra junk with spring, aka mcafee, Steam, Punk Buster, multiple copies of Spring, etc.

Yea 1 other pc, I've plugged my pc directly into the modem to test that and it still does the same thing.
I dont host 32 player games, was just giving an example that my speed is capabale of that, yet I can't seem to host for more than 4 people.
Why would it be my ram <.<? post more on that pls
I barely have anything running on my pc, only stuff like msn, xfire and itunes
