Spring RTS Engine

Can someone make a sticky thread outlining the dimensions each image needs to be relative to the colormap or whatever it is called, and also the size the colormap should be for a 2,3,4,6 or 8 player map?

Oh yeah and on what format all the images need to be in, i.e. 32 bit .bmp.
