Does anybody know what happened lately to command engine?
http://www.osrts.info is as dead as can be...
Did this really interesting project die an early death in its infancy?

Project died afaik...everything that was spring-related on that domain is now at buildbot.no-ip.org

What a waste, they could have spent that time on spring

Something not being worked on doesn't mean it's dead. Stuff happens... I've announced like eleventy million projects nobody believes actually exist, but just because you don't hear anything doesn't mean nothing's happening.

Meh, IMO the project still needs to be done at some point. The problem is finding the people willing to build a new engine from scratch
OSRTS basically died when JC decided he didn't have the time, which is fair enough. It would still be really nice to have an engine where the pathfinding and movement controls are acctually accessible at the mod level, and an engine that could make use of multi streamed processing. Those are things spring will likely never be.

Just to indicate that not everything i say is made of air, I am still developing an engine on my own though, but no idea if it will grow into a strategy thing. It needs lots of time :S
But yeah CE as a team effort never really started, too little time and too much language battles (C++/C#)
EDIT: i can't reply btw cause im going on vacation tomorrow

But it is usually the case. As such, the natural assumption is that all such projects are the same until provesd otherwise. Saying that it's not dead without providing proof to the contrary only makes people more sceptical (here I cite the case of Duke Nukem Forever vs The Internets).

I am with acidd_uk.
if the project isn't dead a simple post of not dead and X stuff getting done is enough to give hope. media is great but an actual post/list of new features does help.
