What's your tolerance for alcohol?

On my 19th (legal drinking age), I wanted to try out this recipe for an "earth version pan galactic gargle blaster"... but I got the proportions all wrong and had to keep on adding more and more until I finally had this 8 oz. glass FULL of 40% alcohol.

Did I get a buzz? Actually no. However I got a horrendous headache and couldn't move very much...

I think I'm going to miss out on experiencing intoxication entirely if I can't even get drunk from that amount of alcohol. I seriously remember everything in 100% detail - I was totally sober except for not being able to move. (lol, take that out of context) I even ate a couple slices of pizza, although I had to do it with my head tilted to the side since, as described earlier, I couldn't... move.

I didn't feel sick either. It lasted about an hour and then began to let up. After 2 hours I was as good as new. And no hangover the next day, though that's probably because I was smart and drank lots of water afterward.

This is probably because I'm a walking genetic disaster. So I got to thinking, how much does a regular person need in order to be certifiably drunk?

Maybe just drink normal stuff instead of mixing your own?
But it does matter what you drink yeah, if I drink beer I have to puke before ever getting really drunk.

no j/k but i like most to mix it votka and i think i am ok tolerate not that bad i can sometime drink very much and i never have vomit... also day after FTW!!!!!!))) too bad almost never have big hurt day after(( it is great when u know u did have too much votka yesterday)))

I drink Vine, a small Gulp for Taste when a Good Bootle is opened.

Federweisser is pretty good, althoug it barely counts as Alcoholic if you don`t let it stay for some time.

Only time i got really drunk was in a Historical Museum. We did a Course in Ancient Roman Cooking. What should i say - they have salty Sardell-Fish in everything but they mixed a Honey-Vine drink, called Mulsum or Vulsum... was pretty good.

but i still could walk afterwards... and i can`t sing, even with a good drink inside.

I never forgot more than 5 minutes when i have been in drunk.

I cant undrestand how people can forget whole night, what a losers.

Beer sucks. Drink strong wines instead, cheap and good, and much volume.

Caydr: mixing different sorts of liquor can have those sorts of results, especially if you are not an experienced drinker.

As for me, I think it's common knowledge that I am drunk quite often (but not often enough).

I like beer. The type of beer I like depends entirely on my mood. Yuengling is a good cheap domestic, it's in the same price range as Bud/Miller/Coors but is easily the best out of those. It goes down smoothly and has a great taste. Coors is good too but is a little bit crisper; Yuengling is sweeter. If I want to get quite drunk, I'll probably be drinking Yuengling.

On the other hand, if it's been a long day and I want to pleasantly unwind, I like higher-class import and domestic microbrew beers. (Yes, I'm a bit of a "beer snob" sometimes, so what?) For example, a couple of nights ago I had Stella Artois and a domestic honey brew that I've forgotten the name of as I had never seen it before. It was actually quite interesting - Stella is a light and bitter pilsner lager, while the honey brew was dark and sweet.

As for my tolerance... I lose my motor skills way before I lose my thinking skills. Eventually I lose both, after maybe 10 beers. I'm unable to type after two or three beers, which causes lots of lulz when I then try to surf the Net. I've never vomited or passed out from drinking exclusively beer. Basically, I have a pretty low tolerance as far as when alcohol starts to affect me, and a pretty high tolerance as far as when alcohol starts to seriously affect me.

The only liquor I really like is tequila. Gin may be added to the list eventually; I had a shot of a friend's Tanqueray and liked it a lot. Whiskey is horrible. I can't drink vodka after having had a particularly bad night with it a couple of years ago, and never liked it anyways. I hate normal rum, but a little bit of spiced rum and coke is okay. Even tequila has its different sorts. Out of the mid-grade tequilas, I like Sauza much better than Jose Cuervo. I don't have enough money to drink high-grade tequilas, but I had a shot of Herradura once and it was okay. Never, never, never drink cheap tequila. I had some stuff called Tres Amigos once at a party; it's about $5 a fifth and is the most vile liquid known to mankind.

Beer = Win

NB. The cheap tequila that I mentioned was in fact Montezuma Gold "tequila". Check out some of the opinions on that site!

Stella isn't a "high class import" tbh. Pretty common beer, and IMO the main reason for it being one of the more expensive beers on tap is because of the higher alchohol percentage. I enjoy it, although to begin with i hated stella and only drank it because it is what my dad drinks so there was usually some in the fridge. Now I tend to go for stella over most other beers on tap (or if I'm getting a carry out from a store). Good balance between quality, price and easy to get drunk on because it's 5.2%

Best beers are German beers IMO. I would tell you which I prefer but I can't spell the names and CBA googling it.

Don't worry, we all have our problems. Recognizing the problem is the first step toward solving it.

Beer mixed with enough lemonade to get rid of the taste = win. I don't drink unless I can have it for free.

Mainly a beer fan, though I do appreciate a fine vodka too, especially as it tends not to hit me very badly and doesn't give me a hangover.

Wine, on the other hand, is always, 100% a recipe for disaster. Gets me trollied very quickly and makes me feel like a corpse the next day.
