In response to Tobi's complaint (and his lack of time) I'd like to engage the players (read: drop some responsibility from myself) in testing. The easiest way to do so is to play some games using the latest svn build of the game, found here. I'd love to see some high-level players (that's you, ladder guys) help to find bugs and report problems. I know that I, and other devs probably too, when implementing a feature or fixing a bug, don't have anyone to test it with (and don't have the time to do so), but when you guys play a game or two once in a while, you'll find those corner cases. You could even open a ladder specifically for the svn version of spring, this would allow us to see how much testing it got. This would help tremendously, especially now, since 75b3 has been cooking for 3 months now and it's nearly ready, with lots of old bugs fixed and probably lots of new introduced. If you find those new ones, you'll help in making of the best release of spring ever.
Players who don't participate in ladders can help, too. I've seen several people yesterday who came to the test server, unfortunately we were ingame already. Thanks for coming, though. Note that you can still play on the test server even when there's no scheduled test session. Bring a friend, duke it out, post the results and bugs you find.
(Note that currently unitsync is broken and the game crashes when trying to host, but copying 75b2 unitsync over fixes that. The test lobby server is available at buildbot.no-ip.org port 8200. Test server topic: http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10555)
