Hi.
New here.
I have just installed spring 0.75b2 from source onto my mandriva 2007.1 X64 system. When I run spring all the text in the game i.e. bottom left corner info and all other text on screen is really really small. Otherwise graphics works fine. How do I make the in game text bigger.

Could you get us a screenshot so we can see what needs to change?

Spring generally needs to run at a res of 1024x768 or higher in order to have readable text.

You can substitute the text files, but once you're down to 640x480, nothing really works.

Up your resolution in the spring options.

I am running the game at 1680 x 1050 resolution. My monitor's max resolution. This made the text more clear but it is still too small. It takes too long to read something like information of a building in the build menu (same size as lower left corner). It is also irritating. I have uploaded a screen shot for neddiedrow.
Just go to unknown files then to temporary files to screen001.jpg.tar.gz

Hurm. Let me see...
We use a TrueType font known as Lexi, which should default to Size 12. It appears that your install is attempting to force Size 12 scaled font down to Size 10, then add double spacing. Do you have any utilities which force font interpretation? I'm not familiar with your particular OS - I only use Damn Small Linux but I'll be moving to Ubuntu soon...

That happened to me on Mac too.
I didn't end up fixing it, but I think there was a 'fontsize' option, or something, in the settings file (on Mac) that I didn't get around to trying.

I use settings++ to change graphics settings. I can not find option to change font size. Instructions on how to change font size would be useful.
Thanks

Solved!!.
I found the .springrc file in my /home/(user)/ directory.
I modified the line FontCharLast=223
to FontCharLast=185
and now the text on screen is much bigger.
Is there any problem in doing this?
If yes tell me why.
