[TUT]How To Install Spring in Ubuntu 7.04 (WORKING !)

This is my first TUT in spring forum
Plz comment !!!

Get this and select open with GDebian:
http://www.detriment.org/spring-0.75~b2 ... -1_all.deb

The same with this :
http://www.detriment.org/spring-0.75~b2 ... 1_i386.deb

More easy then windows :lol:

Depedences here !!!
Go to console and say:

sudo aptitude install scons build-essential zlib1g-dev libfreetype6-dev
sudo aptitude install libsdl1.2-dev libopenal-dev libglew-dev libboost-dev
sudo aptitude install libboost-thread-dev libboost-regex-dev libdevil-dev
sudo aptitude install python2.4-dev zip
sudo aptitude install libsablevm1-dev

sorry but your post gives nothing new compared to the wiki which is much, much more comprehensive

may i ask why you would post this? from your other post i gather you're having problems getting spring to work on linux

alright, my attempt at being subtle didn't work...

after following your "tut" one would still have to take the steps described here

now that you've edited your initial post to point to det's packages it gained a little in usefulness.
but still that should have gone into the wiki.

edit: seems you just found out that you can't just add anything containing debs into your sources list? also, if you don't mind, take a look around the linux subforum. there's a lot of information already here that doesn't really need repeating. if anything it should be consolidated into the wiki. that could be something to do for you...

sweet jesus you're giving me a headache.

the "dependencies" you just edited in (your 7th edit) are mostly development headers necessary for compiling spring.

do you have a basic understanding of what you're doing or do just take bits and pieces from the wiki and try them out?
