Spring RTS Engine

We've agree'd that the lobby looks like something you would find in the era of Windows 95. So yeah it seems kind of boring... We figured if there was a theme suit the games played would smartern up the lobby making it seem more like a game instead of something like a downloading program (Limewire, Torrent) or some amatuer Java chatroom.

It's not my duty to execute such a task for the lobby client as this is only a suggestion.

Thoughts and Recommendations?

Boring? wtf, i never felt it as boring :D i dont much care how anything looks, if it works and its clear, then i dont need anything more...

What about First time gamers, they'll believe not much work is put into the engine aswell. Sigh. I just don't like the idea of spring lobby looking like it was made 12 years and hasn't really been bothered with. People tend to wish Quality in a number of aspects.

We already know this. AF is trying to replace TASclient with his java AFLobby, and Satirik is updating TASclient.

Oh, well i didnt think it like that when i first time opened the client, but yeah, you are right, most of the people are such a superficial bastards.

yeah .. I really like application which stay with the theme of my desktop. Not like shitty steam...
If you want to show something which look polished, make a full screen application integrated to the client.

At least it doesn't boot you to start menu when you leave a battle, a la most shooters.

Spring does need a cool looking lobby, with the functionality of the culprit one. Though this place dosnt strike me as having to many good 2D artists.
