Okay, on my laptop after Spring .75b2, the frame rate is now an evil 15.
Normally lower.
It used to be right at full.
So was anything added afer .74b3 that got me this?

Specs? Spring settings? Graphics card settings?

Intel P4 2.4 Ghz
Ati Mobility IGP 340M/345M (my desktop has a nice nvida, thank goodness...)
Spring settings are AS LOW AS POSSIBLE!! 640x480 (basicly unplayable btw.) Nothing. No lua. No shadows. Nothing.
I updated the gfx card's drivers.
No change.

I get countinously dropping fps. I have an AMD64 single core cpu, 2360MHz, 1,5G ram, integrated Ati X300 VGA. When i start a game, the fps is 40-60 (all settings is on minimum, resolution not necessary) and its works good for some minutes. When I play more, the fps is get down, about 15 minutes later, the fps is under 30, another 15 minutes later the fps is under 20, and some minutes later, the game is crash. This is the end of the infolog.txt:

This may mean a lot of things, but none are related to spring:
- drivers
- malware
- vista
- intrusive antivirus/firewall/antimalware
- even damaged hardware (unlikely if the system is otherwise stable.)
- whatever else there is

Almost new XP SP2, latest ati driver (7.

, latest spring, no malware, computer is "primestable"...
I will chek the fps with the older 0.74b3 spring... -that version was stable, just the fps fall down after 10 hours run time...

This is the first time I've played or compiled Spring in a long time, and 0.75b2 is thoroughly sucking on my machine.
AMD Opteron 165 (admittedly OCed to 2.35 GHz, but I really, really don't think that's the problem, given others' reports)
NVidia 7800 GT, stock frequencies (it's not an ATI thing)
a Slackware Linux 11.0 install that is no more than a month old (so it's not a Windows thing either)
Oh, and $DEITY help you if you build some units then pause. Everything goes down to a few FPS, and trying to unpause will result in a freeze that lasts proportionally to how long the game remains paused.
Well, time to compile myself a debug version. Again. Yay.

This happened to me a while back. I was getting 50-60 frames for 2 years of playing. Then one day I started a game and I was stuck below 5 frames.
I never changed anything, it fixed itself after a few weeks. Left as suddenly as it came.

Now THAT is scarry!

I do find it frustrating that my dusty old 2Ghz machine struggles processing the same pathfinding, scripting, and targetting that a 200 Mhz machine could handle just fine in OTA.
Anybody profiled to find out where the bottlenecks are?

pathfinding is hard, and nobody ahs touched our pathfinder in a long time.
Our pathfinder is much better than OTAs though for what it does.

Which, after i posted it in the Art and Modelling thread, I realized was completely inappropriate for said forum and discovered that there was an active thread of people complaining about the same problem. So I reposted it here.

Ah, but you got a solid answer in the other thread!
By the by, have you been playing this whole time, or did you take a break for several months? It seems like a number of people are popping back up these days...

Btw, my graphic errors with 75b2 aren't solved either yet.
[See this thread]
And
[this] post contains two links to other threads, that might enquire about the same problem.

Its even worse for me. I have about 2 frames per second, at least later in the game. I start a game versus the ai, and it starts ok, but as the game gets on, the framerate drops and drops and drops and drops and keeps dropping until the game eventually crashes. The game plays ok for the first 20 or so mins then i begin to notice the slowdown. by an hours gameplay or so its dropped to about 2 or even 1 fps and really hard to play.
In addition, there are other glitches in my game...
1.) hovercraft are not working properly. The can be build on water using hovercraft platform NS and on land, but, once on one of the 2 they cant go on the other. they either work like boats if built off land, or like ground vehicles if built ON land.
2.) As soon as i load the game, the cursor begins to jutter. Even if the rest of the game plays fine, the mouse movement stutters - e.g. the cursor has a framerate of 1 or even 1/2 fps even when the rest of the game runs perfectly, which isnt very often.
Here are my specs:
NVIDIA G Force 4 7300
2 Gigabytes of ram, running Interleaved
Pentium D 3 Gigahurts processor (Dual Core)
And theres planty of swap(/t) file space - 103 Gig spare on C:\
Any ideas?

this reminds me of something that happened with FEAR, if you have the Data Execution Prevention thing for windows turned on for programs other than just system services, turn that off, or put spring as an exception.

just a random thought XD
