hi,
using linux spring (obviously) and buildfacing doesnt work.
well it is a german keyboard layout but i tried every key. none of them changed the buildfacing.
with windows i am used to use mouse 4 and 5 for buildspacing. that doesnt work in the linux version too. only with strg+x/z (pity is here the z is accross the keyboard on a german layout...
how can i fix that for my demands?
and how do i enable the drawing thing or point setting feature?
with wine&spring the keys work but sound is hissing... so how do i change all stuff..?
greetings me

There was an issue with SDL in windows version, downgrading to 1.2.10 helped.

ok i figured out the buildfacing dec/inc for a german keyboard layout to have it on the same keys as in the windows version:
add these lines:
unbind Any++ speedup (unbind +)
bind 0x0FC buildfacing inc (key ü)
bind 0x02B buildfacing dec (key +)
to the uikeys.txt file.
mine is located: /usr/local/share/games/spring/uikeys.txt here
yours could differe
for drawing on the map and makeing signs add this:
bind 0x05E drawinmap
with that you will be able to use the same key as in windows. (key left of the key "1")
still looking for the mouse4 and mouse5 option to change the buildspacing inc/dec
i tried:
bind Any+Ctrl+x mouse4
bind Any+Ctrl+z mouse5
but that is not working :/
i am the end of my latin. i dont know how to set this up.

The default is:
bind Any+z buildspacing inc
bind Any+x buildspacing dec
So you could just bind that to any keys you want, as you did with the other keys.
But maybe you should ask on a linux specific irc room/forum about whether this may be a misconfiguration of keyboard settings somewhere else.

that is the problem about it. i dont want to bind it on a key (x and z work for that operation)
mouse4 and mouse5 dont work with spring under linux.
spring emulated in wine and mouse4 and mouse5 work for the buildspaceing inc/dec operation. but as said not in linux:spring....
the buttons mouse4 and mouse5 work in firefox and other applications. i can bind those 2 buttons without a problem in other games f.e. doom3...
what is the standard binding name for mouse4 and mouse5 button in spring?

If x and z are not convenient, why not other keys? If you really want to use buttons 4 and 5 on the mouse, I'm not really sure what to do.

i thought about using y and x, but mouse 4 and 5 would be better because they are the same with windows:spring and i like to have the config everywhere exactly the same :)

Honestly, all these settings should be configurable from within the game in an options menu.
