I was bored and had some free time, so i thought i'd design a better interface. What do people think? Anyone wanna implement it?

I dont quite get what you mean...
I've replaced "Ally Team" to now be Team and "My Team" to be ID. Each ID contains your colour and ID number.

I've been playing with similar interface ideas for a battle room, with the killer feature being drag and drop between the ally team columns to make arranging the ally teams easier for the host. I'd entirely scrap the old player list.

that is a neat idea.

Minus the ugly colorscheme you got I like it.

Minus the ugly colors, the functionality of the interface is much better.
I especially like the idea of changing "Ally Team" to just "Team", making Team then become "Player ID" or just "Player" - it is otherwise way more confusing than it needs to be.

He just took a screenshot of the current spring lobby and edited it.
The ugly colors are just one of our skins... one which I personally hate...

why do "teams" (actually meaning allies) have a color by them?
remove that
also you don't need "game type" button, that just makes things unnecessarily more complicated. just have the team number button range from 2 to 16.
and yes this will be much easier for noobs to understand

The Colour is the status of the team - yellow = locked, red = team has more players than at least 1 other team, green = team has less than or equal to players than other teams.
It seems quite complicated, but essentially it would mean teams are balanced on "all green", and unbalanced with at least 1 red.
GameType - True, you only need 2 gametypes Team and FFA. I thought it would be clearer in the lobby (when joining) if you know if you're joining a team (2 teams) game and a team ffa (3+ teams)

Replace that with icons. Colors don't have enough meaning, and they are already used for player identification, so it's somewhat confusing.

I like that! It will be hugely easier to organize big games! :)

if you add country flags like in the current satirik-lobby and take away the IDs (replace it with a "comshare-checkbox or sth similar) then its perfect :)

Why would you take away the IDs... they indicate your colour...
