Lua Generated Corrosion - A Request For Aid

My apologies, I intended to make this LUA script myself, but I've been unable to make the time for it and won't be able to both make it and use it in the time frame I have left before I return to campus.
Anyway, I was planning a LUA script that generates smoke, bubbles and froth as well as the sound of rapid chemical burning when a unit makes contact with water on a map that uses this script. I'm working on a map with a sea of corrosive fluid which spun off from a map suggestion by AF, but both he and I felt it would be better if there was some sort of visual and audible warning that your units were suffering damage from the fluid.
Essentially, the LUA would reference the map SMD to get the colour of the surface water as defined therein, then generate a variable array of bursting bubbles and froth with shades varying a few degrees brighter than the water. The smoke would rise in tendrils from the unit with a darker colour than that of the water, accompanied by the sound of scorching material for as long as contact continued. When the unit broke contact the smoke would persist centered on the unit for between one and four second, then cease generation.
Anyway, I don't have the time or the skill to do this - I'm currently beating my head against a number of other things. If somebody could help me out and create it, I would be in his or her debt and willing to write an article or make a map in exchange.
