LUA Based Spectator Minigames? O_O

So, it's late, and I'm in game and talking with SHOX and Saktoth, and we figured it would be really cool if we could make lua minigames for spectators to play during the less interesting parts of a battle. What sort of games? Not just tic tac toe or rock paper scissors [don't ask] of course, but stuff like free camera racing! [complete with a defined track on the map, spectator visible only model, and other stuff. Or lua mini com combat, with spectator only models and lasers... And lua based player betting, with direct automagic links to paypal accounts so we can all milk money off of rANDY and out of Caydr's pockets. Anyways, you get the idea.
It's late. I'm bored. Is anyone actually interested in implementing an insignificant feature like this instead of modding/mapping/developing/making useful lua widgets?

I do believe you uncheck the box 'spectate' in order to do these.

The thing that concerns me the most is how it will effect game performance for the host. There are enough ignorant fools who believe that they have to kick all spectators because there is some massive spec conspiracy to lag their games. I can imagine this making things worse...

When speccing, you never can get all the beautiful things payers are doing.
I wonder how you could spec while playing a minigame...
You can't do both at the same time. If you wanna play minigames, I think it would be better not to spec.

I remember on WoW there was a LuaUI that let people play puzzle bubble against eachother and it used in-game chat to send all the data. But WoW let you create as many new channels as you want and make them hidden.

Betting might be pretty cool but the rest seem a little worthless and I have the same worry as SwiftSpear.

Something like tic-tac-toe, hangman or whatever would hardly affect game performance.

Well, use the chat-box and make all the games text-based.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Krogoth.

Can lua send messages to other clients through a means other than global chat?

The typemap shows only three efficient paths - one to the right, from whence you came, one forward, and one single-pixel deep run which winds through a slight error in the screen.

Now i know nothing about the source, but there is already support for allied and spec chat. If the code for these is clean enough, it should be a piece of cake to add additional, if not user created channels

Wait, wait, wait!!! How about virtual bets? Every player has an amount points(Can be negative!) and if he's/she's a spec you can bet on a player(in 1vs1) or a team which will win before game starts!!! A player with big points means he knows players!
Betting wouldn't be 100% of course!
Now this I could make an exception for a minigame!!!!

Have a competition on who can annoy the host enough to get kicked first.

We've tried that before and I've won multiple times.

What would be cool is if AF could reimplement his Cookie system, and we can use LUA to interface with his php. Now, here's another thing, can Spring LUA have access to exteral applications? Something to think about.

It would require a lua API interface with the spring<->autohost interface.
However theres fat chance of that as its not a necessary API, and we've yet to get the vitally necessary AI<->Lua API.
