can't watch network replays

i play BA 5.5

whenever i try to watch a replay i get

"Unknown net msg"

then program crashes out and it usually throws up some number (like 12 or 9 or whatever). after 75b1 i got it about 50%, 75b2 i get it about 95%. and if a replay is loaded and runs it usually crashes before completion.

i've searched the forum and there is some mention of replay troubles so i'm not sure its being worked on or is a priority. i and my friends greatly enjoy watching replays and it is one of the things i really like about Spring. so i hope its more stable in the future.

crossing fingers for 75b3

new versions of sprign require new replays.

Old replays need odl versions fo spring.

Its a nonportable format that changes everytime spring is updated. So unless you want to keep old copies of spring to watch them with your demos are all useless now.

I have the same problem. It started to occur a few days ago, I always get errno 13 and it affects all replays since then.

errno 13 means "Permission denied", is there anything interesting in the infolog.txt?

i'm having a bit more luck.

i use the Satirik lobby client.

one of his updates says "Host replay access error fixed"

i'm using version 49, but 50 is out now. i host most of the replays i wanna watch. i have no clue how the lobby client would have anything to do with the spring engine watching replays.

gonna sit down and watch some replays soon. i'll see how many crashes, but i think the updated lobby client may have done the trick.
