why not call it a dartboard?
edit:
in all seriousness, if you lower the extremeties of the heightmap to like 2/3rds that, I bet it plays ALOT more like you intended....

That can be very easily done, I'll give it a try...
BTW: Advice like lathan's is welcome, this is a beta map after all.

You'll make them and I'll add them

.
Smoth - i didn't see any features that would fit well on this map, and i thought that rocks (or any other "natural" feature) wouldn't blend well since this map has an artificial feel to it.

Goolash, sorry I didnt get back to you earlier. A few things that differ from my initial concept:
The middle and edges should be high, impassable mountains. There should be no way of getting across them, save by air. Then you cant cheat and sneak across the middle into the enemy's base
The slope near the middle is to steep. Try and make the slope uniform along the whole ramp maybe.
Feel free to play with the heightmap plenty, I made it in like 5 minutes just to demonstrate my idea.

I know that's what you meant but i didn't like it so i changed to be passable by bots, it adds to the gameplay in my opinion.

This is not your heightmap, I made a completely new one (yours was not symmetrical

), the slope is uniform across the whole ramp (or photoshop's gradient lied to me

). I left a flat part at the top so it can be built upon but i guess that's not what you're talking about when you say uniform slope (you do want a buildable part at the top, right?)
I think I'll try to take lathan's advice and just lower the height of the entire map.
EDIT: Maelstorm - graphically are you pleased with the design or did you have something else in mind?
