The Eye of Argon Game!

Get some friends, and try this hilarious game!

Get in a circle and hold the printed version of this: http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/SF-Archives/Mi ... _The_Argon

Each person reads until they laugh. Once they laugh, they hand the Eye of Argon to the next person over.

NOTE: This is an actual, published piece of work. Er...published in an Fanzine. But still...people paid money for it. It is...indescribably bad.

Try the game out!

I can read the whole thing without laughing. The story sucks, and is somewhat disturbing, but it's not funny.

Read it aloud and pronounce the misspellings phonetically...but it might just be a writer thing...

Better than I did. I got half a line before bursting out in hysterics. There were some people in my group who could do whole paragraphs, but most of us would stutter out a sentence and a half, then just toss the paper over, covering their mouths as they laughed.

Quite fun. Took us 2 and a half hours to get through the whole thing...and it doesn't end.

It's basically a bad porn fantasy quickie... I'm not really surprised someone dumb paid for it. I think it's more that you guys just suck at reading too each other out loud :P

I'm not sure I'd laugh doing it, but people would probably laugh watching me read the dirty parts in the story...

No, what is really atrociously bad about this is the prose has...everything wrong. Sentence structure...wrong. Clarity...none to speak of. The...wordages is just...GRAH!

It's really glaringly obvious to me, because I've been training myself to look for weak sentence structure and bad prose...but...even a basic reader should be able to see all these glaring bad! It's so bad, it's funny. Like...Zardoz!

Ya, I see it, but it doesn't make it funny, it just makes it awkward to read.

I emailed this to my english teacher a few weeks ago.

He enjoyed it.

edit: This version's better though for reading on the computer.

I remember hearing about this one years ago, the number of adjectives is a record for a short story or something.
The weather beaten trail wound ahead into the dust racked climes of the baren land which dominates large portions of the Norgolian empire. Age worn hoof prints smothered by the... sifting... sands of... time--- HAHAHAHHAHAHA
