Being who I am, I've never been satisfied with the current Spring logo, so it is only natural that I bring you another installment of "NEW AND AVANT GARDE LOGO IDEAS FROM NEURALIZE"

Image

I really think the current logo is just bland and uninspired, and with all this talk about a new site, and new this and that, I really think we need to adopt some sort of unified identity to the engine aspect of this project, I really don't care if it's mine or not.

I dont lik the fotn on top right and the gear doesnt doesnt suite my tastes.

Having said that I dont think now is the time for this.

Should you decide for a new logo push, youll have to demonstrate that its a logo and not a flashy picture, and demonstrate how it fits into spring itself, the site, the installers, the media, alternate colour schemes, variants, 16x16 and 1024x1024 scalability, T-Shirts, coffee cups, banners, favicons, the lot.

Top left one. Keeps in style with the current logo's gear and has a nice, easy to read font compared to the others that also looks good.

No, it was a sun, or something. I never liked it. For what spring is, I think the current logo actually decreases the value of our "product" and makes it less appealing or attractive.

Many of us take modern design, and marketing techniques for granted. If you really look at the world around you, you'll realize that many products and their design have this almost unattainable mystique about about them. Coupling that with extremely high quality photography increases this mystique. Really, most modern commercial design is very hard to replicate in a timely manner, even for seasoned graphic artists.

The gear connotes to fiddling directly with machinery, makes me think of robot wars:

I don't like it, I think the current sun is a much better concept, with more vague feel, like "a new beginning", explosions, a nice view, and tons of stuff like that.

I like the bottom right one with the font and gear working together nicely (but still not the gear istelf). And I think for a sun its appropriate the way it is with it rising directly above the text and don't think it can be any better.
