Too lazy to use BA forums

So im building a line of vipers and toasters... and suddenly realize that the enemy has nukes - 'no problem', i say, 'my popups have always been awesome hardened defenses'

and then the line gets nuked (at full length) and everything DIES

What happened to popups being nuke resistant when they are covered? :((

maybe their ultra resistance was removed in a bid to make porcing more difficult?

Just did a test. Ambusher and Toaster both survived what was functionally a direct hit by a Silencer, other popups (Pit Bull, Viper, Pack0) didn't make it.

I presume all popups should survive a Retaliator hit a reasonable distance from them.

check modinfo. Pitbull has dmg modifier 0.5 which means he has dobule life when closed. That means it gets 5k life. More than enough. Closed toaster gets 4x3700 life when closed that why it survives.

Before it was too hard to break porcer with arty. We like it now better.

you can't micro popup-cannons,

GG NOOBZ BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME

(afaik the pitbulls and vipers will survive if they arent directly hit)

Bah... I take it you were playing BA? They probably don't understand the reason why their armor value was so low (0.05 or something I think).

If they want buildings hardened against nukes but not so much against regular stuff, special damage values should be put in... wouldn't be hard.

Special damages are eeevil.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil.

Such low (high?) armour values make pop-ups immune to artillery.

Toasters and Ambushers are actually still resistant to nukes- they will survive a direct hit from even a core nuke, though they wont have many hp left. A Doomsday Machine will also survive a nuke hit. Remember however that if you have something explodey nearby (a fusion, a plasma deflector, etc) that it will probably create nasty chains.

A Viper and Pitbull wont survive, though it will have some chance of surviving if its on the edges of the nuke. This is not unreasonable, as these things are really your frontline defences at t2, not some specialist nuke-resistant battery.

For the record, a closed Doomsday Machine with 10k hp and 0.05 damagemod will survive 20 core nukes. Even 10 nukes will bury it so far underwater that you'll never see it again though.

I'd suggest using HitByWeaponId to prevent this from affecting nuke vs. open popup.

Oh come on, as if anyone is going to drive his army into a bunch of pop-ups then nuke them, just so that he can get em while they are open.

You only need to get one unit into their range shortly before impact. Depending on whether they have onlytargetcategory set you can even use a peeper or something.
