Victory conditions?

Would it be possible (maybe with LUA) to implement some kind of objective oriented game-end condition?

I'm thinking holding a certain map section for x amount of time, maybe even capture the flag style gameplay.

If in doubt you can just delete all enemy units but I wonder if there's another way?

Initially i was thinking of a structure that would allow a civ-style "space race" victory, that could just have a noselfdamage weapon that nuked the map, but it's rather hackish and I got to thinking about the other possibilities, particularly for single player stuff.
