Video for the new spring site, i'll stick it on youtbue a bit later, but dl it from UF anyway, nuch higher quality ^^
This is all kenal panic, with funky music / effects that i think suit the mod really well..
Ooops wrong forum, meant this for general discussion
Edit:
Youtubified version..

The timing of these reliefed/inverted stills in the last half wasn't so good. Music is fitting (IMO) and the smooth cam makes it awesome. 8/10
PS: You misspelled kernel in the filename... :P

I love it! I don't see anything that could be improved in the video itself. I really dig it!
Now there are a few things I'm going to bother you with that are more organizational in nature.
Playback of the windows media file is not great here, I don't know if that is because of my system (Linux) or that the file has a problem. (YouTube playback was fine so I had a very good look.)
And there are a few other things like that I need it hosted on Google video to integrate it in the site. And I would like the have the video in high quality ogg or xvid/divx.
And a few other things like that but I have to go (move from the computer) so I can't go into that now.

Some comments now that I have some time to think about it.
I would like it if you would release the video under an
OSI or
CC approved license. (allow derivatives with the cc licenses please)
I would also like it if we can have a high quality version in MPEG-2 and a compressed one in ogg, xvid or divx.
Last but not leased you will need to upload it to Google Video so they can host it and I can integrate it in the HTML.
I have been working on a new Blender rendered Spring logo animation but I'm quite busy with a lot of other things so I'm going to push that one back a bit, we can update the video later to include it.
Same with the url in the end, I hope we can use the springrts.com domain with the new site.

what do i need to do to release it under a lisence? i don't know anything about that sort of stuff.
i've already done and mpeg2 version as well as HD. i didnt upload those to youtube / uf as the filesize was too big. i'll try again and mess about with a few settings. (the two better quality versions cope with the transitions much more smoothly).

He would need to get legal permission to use the song, Tim.

I like it although the music was a little odd, I couldnt quite get the right rythm out of it and had to put effort into tracking it down.

Did anyone else, after reading the above post, suddenly imagine AF doing a really bad robot dance in his bedroom mirror trying to track down the rythm?
Hawwwt vid btw Cabbage :)

Weeeeeeell...this week I'm mostly into french spring videos but I gave yours a try.
Seriously, the acting is like bollywood standard! And the script is not talking to me, I mean come on! Whats the message? If I were you I'd recut the whole piece and add some beach scenes with David Hasselhoff in swimtrunks!

You just say that you release it under a license and link to it.
I would suggest the cc by-sa license
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ it would allow others to make changes to the video if needed but they would again have to allow others to do the same. (sa - share alike) and credit you for the original work (by - attribution).
Example would be:
"I release this video under the CC BY-SA license, I would like to be credited at the end of the video with my nickname 'Cabbage'."
Understand the idea? That's what you need to do to release something under a license.
And you don't have to upload the high definition video's to google video, "we" as the Spring project just like to have them around. What's the file size of the mpeg2 version without the music? (see remark below about the music)
If it's really large I might give you an ftp account to my domain so you can upload it there.

Yes that's right... I forgot about that.. cabbage you would have to remove the music from the high quality video's you release under a license as you can only license things that you made yourself.

zwzsg showed the video on irc
i have this to say: needs less sfx that obscure the ingame action.
