.75 Promo Video

Repost from other thread because I think it needs it's own thread:

Well, I think I'm ready to make another video, here is my old one from last year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dN5zgKsJXQ
(Don't look at my other videos, they won't make sense.)

Except, of higher quality, and better encoded and what not.
What better way to herald this release than with a new trailer.

Here's what we need to do though; get started on this trailer now, meaning I need to get all the shiny things being developed for .75 and start recording them.

Examples that I would like to have in order to make this look good:

Latest Unreleased EE Beta with New Race
Latest Unreleased SWTA Beta
Latest Unreleased 1944 Beta (Already got this. Whee.)
Latest Unreleased Gundam

Any secret epic projects that would look good in a showcase.

I plan on doing something similar with the typography zooming in, but I am open to suggestions. After reading a comment on the first video, I was thinking that I should start this video with footage from Total Annihilation to show a comparison of how much the concept of Total Annihilation has grown.

I will be using either some sort of classical music or electronica for the music, suggestions here would be good, but don't give me anything that's been used a million times in different videos, like the theme song from requiem for a dream.

quick draft idea, subject to much change

<shot of OTA Battle>
OVER A DECADE AGO
<shot of OTA Battle>
TOTAL ANNIHILATION SHOOK
<shot of OTA Battle>
THE FOUNDATIONS OF RTS
<kinda unrecognizable shot of something in TA SPRING, but just enough, maybe like a shadow or something>
ON 7.31.07
<epic marching army shot, no shooting yet>
THOSE FOUNDATIONS WILL SHAKE AGAIN
<Units flying, but not attacking, Tanks on the move.>
ONLY THIS TIME
<DEATHSTAR RUN OMG, NUKE'S LAUNCHING, ARMY ABOUT TO REACH ANOTHER ARMY, THIS IS SPARTAA CHAAARGE>
THEY WILL CRUMBLE
<AAAH KILLER BATTLE, DEATH AND BLOOD AND FLYING HEADS GALORE WITH MUSTACHES AND FLAMING DOGS.>

Or maybe just an expose about how the gaming industry actually hates games with high modability and high replay value and tries as hard as possible not to make another half-life, quake, or total annihilation so that their future games will not succumb to poor sales.

First of all there needs to be sounds in the video, seeing gundam and not hearing any of the selection noizes or hearing explosions was sad.

A mention of kernel panic wouldnt go amiss.

the current release of gundam is the most ready for video version. At the moment I am working on some new units and many things tech tree etc are going to be out of wack for at LEAST another 2 months. which means that for another two months the best version of gundam is the current release. After said time I will be testing new stuff.

Next time if you're going to claim "Spring is many games" don't run TA music over the whole video :P.

BTW, should've mentioned that the video is ancient because the mods displayed there look a lot prettier now.

IT will be ... very soon after the next spring release! I just need one of the patchs in it befor I can rlease. :-) So it will be fine to put it in the show. Are you planning on shoooting it with the current release, so its ready on the day of said release?

Needs at least one or two top-down, "real gameplay" views of the battle, IMHO.

Edit: and include Lathan's Goddamn Swamp Map! Even if it is unplayable :P

Oh and "Foundation" should be "Foundations", IMHO :P
