If i set up a download area/info section on my website for linux spring users as there is no proper bit on the spring site, would it actually help at all or would i be wasting my energy?

Well, it won't do any harm, but it's probably not worth the effort. If anything, try updating the wiki with linux information, maybe even adding a subsection for linux users (I couldn't find one). It will also probably take up less time then setting one up on your site too. There was a thread about this not long ago but I can't seem to find it...

there is, i have to add it's not really where you'd expect for it to be as it's under the development column.
wiki --> developemnt column ---> Alternative Operating Systems:
http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Linux_Page
once we get a decent lobby, i'd suggest the linux port shouldn't be considered that "unfinished" and the link be moved to general
i'd say also simply call it unix/linux installation instead of "alternative operative systems", sounds like spring is still too tied to windows-only
and yes, i'd say too to refine the wiki, instead of making your own website

As the author of that page, I added it because there were a lot of stuff in obscure places and a single link to the linux multiplayer page on the main wiki menu.
So I made a menu page and linked in a lot of stuff and made the lobby pages for aflobby omni etc. I needs updating though.
The reason it was labelled 'alternative OS' not Linux, was because of the attempt at the mac port which was going on at the time.
