I was looking something up in the dictionary and spotted it there. Sounded pretty cool so i thought what the hell.

Back in the day when I us to played D&D I had a high level mage named
Runecrafter, I thought the name was cool so I started using it as my nick
online.

I wanted to completely destroy the budding catchphrase :D

I've no clue. maybe It came from Zelda. though I hardly played those games. It came from a story I once wrote. guess it costed me one hour of sitting back in my chair before I had finished the word.

I was sick of calling myself after optimus prime at lan parties, looked in front of me and read a WH40k 2nd ed vehicle card and read "pintle mounted storm bolter" i liked the sound of the word pintle, looked it up and liked the meaning (emphasise teamplay over glory hogging) and it stuck.

Ralph Wiggum is my hero.

I used to use a nickname for online gaming. Recently, though, I dedcided that it was obnoxious and somewhat embarrasing to go to a LAN party where everybody calls each other strange nicknames. They don't sound nearly as cool when spoken out loud.

Especially when about 50% of them are some variation of "Death", "War", etc...

"Hey Deathstalker, is the router back up yet?"

"Sure thing, Deathmonger! Wanna fire up some C-Strike?"

"Awesome. Let's ask RedDeath, Daddydeath, and Bloodsucker if they want to join in."

"Great. I'll go find Wargamer and see if he'll host."

All of the above are real nicknames.
