Epic Legions Beta v1.4

EDIT: EPIC LEGIONS IS OFFICIALLY DEAD. STOP REZZING THE DAMN THREAD!

UPDATE! V1.4 link!

Get it here!

It's actually been at v1.4 for a while, I just seem to have forgotten to update the thread here. Oops, and sorry for not noticing this sooner...

Surprise!

My little W40K mod is not as dead as it seems...
EDIT: Except that it is

Since that escapade with the Imperial Guard, I restarted the mod. So far, Space Marines and Tau are being worked on. Space Marines are nearly complete - I'm missing:
-Assualt Marines
[strikethrough]-Dreadnoughts[/strikethrough]
-Thunderhawk Gunship (but not transporter)
-Chaplains and Apothecaries and Techmarines
-Veterans (will probably simply make ordinary troops become these with XP)

A melee system is WIP

Tau is missing a lot of stuff, currently I only have:
-General base buildy stuff
-Firewarriors with Pulse Rifles and Carbines
-Gundrone
-Tetra Scout
-Piranha with Burst Cannons (Anti-Infantry) and with Fusion Blaster (Anti-Tank)

BETA v1.4
Can't remember what I changed. It has Dreadnoughts in though, I know that.

Fixed various bugs, tweaked various variables, added various Imperial Guard units

Flamers are less over powered
Rockets etc don't infantry flying across the map any more
Logistic Bunker generates energy like it's supposed to
Heavy Bolters are slightly less powerful
Tanks last longer
Fixed the flag system - infantry now have a special 'anti-flag weapon to destroy them, rather than using their primary weapon. Units that can't destroy flags won't bother shooting at them either
Units whose weapons won't scratch other types of units (ie lasguns vs tanks) won't bother trying to shoot said unit, and will instead concentrate on units they can actually kill

EDIT: Reuploaded to moddb

There are some issues due to the latest Spring version: the commander's starting storage is something like 30 or similar, making it nigh impossible to play. I'm fixing this now

yeah textures will indeed make this mod more exciting. Don't think a tabled suddently allows you to make pwnage texture. but they do give you more freedom. (I use mine for textures as well)

Guessmyname wrote: It's buggy because, well it's a beta and not a lot of people test it, and it's unbalanced for the same reason. Well, I say 'unbalanced', I mean 'probably unbalanced' - The only person I've ever gotten to play against is Nemo (who kicks arse at 'Legions, I'll warn you now)
I did one game which you were in (you were spec) and this other person, (cant remember) in a really old version

Introducing...!

The Imperial Guard (Death Korps of Kreig to be specific)

Image
Kreig Infantry

A line unlikely to hold

Image
A grenadier provides long range, if innacurate fire support

And lastly, a model Sentinel. These have to got to be the fiddliest, most complicated things I've had to model, land-speeder included

Please excuse me whilst I go bug Nemo into making it a walkscript.

So why death korps of kreig than say... Tallaran or Vallahans (Cadians are far to common) and I thought that death korps always wore robes/trench coats

1. They look cool
2. I was browsing Forge World at the time
3. Yes, they usually have trenchcoats. But trenchcoats are impossible to animate without skeletal animation, thus I had to drop that aspect

Well in 3 weeks I'll be free from exams so I'll be giving this a go then.
I should be able to get someone to beta-test against as well.

Words cannot describe how much fun I had modelling this.

'Tis an Alpha Pattern Leman Russ (The pattern the Death Korps use, according to Forgeworld), and lands at 1209 faces according to wings (which doesn't measure things in triangles and includes hidden faces, so that's a bit innacurate)

?

Model wise those look great. Get someone to texture those and we'll have another upcoming mod made of Awesome and Win.
I'm quite looking forwards to giving this a go now.

(HINT: Zsinj doesn't want me working on this project )

Is there anyone he hasn't secretly recruited???

It would explain why E&E, and Gundam have been so suspeciously quiet these last few months......
