Instead of yet another whining, you can suggest new metalmap.

At last! Photorealism in Spring!

trademark these sort of maps with this engine really do suck
you need to make every single building a feature and have a base texture that doesent have them on in the first place to make it good.
(or buy command and conquer 3..... which has these sort of maps but implemented correctly)
its just to distracting to play a map like this.

Haha, good pic :D
I'll add that to the screenshots of the map

Yeah, thats why i didnt bother to make it any more complex than what it is now. Because, it just wont be any better.
And features would make it very sucky, you couldnt move anywhere at all, features are just on the way and stops moving...

interesting, I plan on using a map "kinda" like that to put buildings on...
though the scale you used is a wittle bit off...
you have it at about a 1/3 scale... a tank is nearly as big as a cityblock, that just seems too small to me..
but all in all, I'll give you a good effort..
help a man out on some buildings.. !

lol @ Boirunner
Fix the metal map, make some hills and/or slightly uneven terrain, and it will be a decent map.

Well yeah, but if i made it bigger, the map should be 32x24, and anyways, i dont have that detailed images of the town, so i need to resize the image, which will just look ugly...

Its kinda impossible to make hills to a map where is not really hills at all.
Metal map fix suggestions? Anyone? -.-
I could add random noise to the heigtmap, but why the heck? You cant see the difference... and also then i need to make every road without noise, because then it looks stupid if roads have noisy heightmap...

you get terrain/hight map differences from structures/buildings...
and yes, the city usually has "some" kind of gradual hill or hills across it...
though the difference in height is probably a whole whopping 5-25 height field.

I wonder... could you make a Google Maps map that was nice if you started with a rural enough area? I suppose we would need some smaller tree features to make it work, at least at the usual Gmaps resolutions for rural areas.

many of you guys are too new to remember all of the old photo realistic maps like Egypt etc.
