Could we have the Oldstyle "painted" (or rendered) Maps combined with the new format ?

Because for large areas with repeated textures we can use the texture splat to render out a repetative texture space. Mapconv has a horrible tiling compression that loses a lot of detail at high compression levels.Crampman wrote:What would be the point ?
