It's just the part between the shoulder and cockpit that looks weird. Then again, I don't think I'd be able to see that part from behind anyways ;_;

I'll do one from the top, so you can see a bit better, then. Basically, it has an upper section coming out of the main body that holds the missile launchers up, which I did mainly to restore a visual sense of balance to the design. Here's a side view:

The first render looks a bit like a UEF Titan from Supreme Commander but with launchers...

I like it.

Considering that these units are factory fresh why's the metal so rusty? Using plain gunmetal instead of rust probably would've worked better...

Wow, is it me or do models just get exponentially better on here week by week? In reference to Argh's mech post.

One criticism though - the side view makes it look off balance to the back, as if it'd constantly be straining not to topple backwards due to the highly off centre placement of the missile launchers.

I'm off on holiday for a month or so. Hope Pure will be around when I get back :)

*nods* That's why the original had a big head (though it didn't have the big back missile launchers)

I really like it, but saying "it looks like X" is kinda pointless, since about six million videogames and other sources have identical-looking mechs with that same structure. Earliest example I can think of is the Mad Cat from Battletech, but I'm sure there are earlier ones.

1. The original design was changed substantially to avoid being a little too close to a certain Wizkids property ;)

2. I think it's interesting that the design of the calves makes that connection for people, even though very little else substantially resembles that design at this point.
