The Arwing was instantly recognizeable.

@KDR:
It's similar to the Arwing, and certainly references it:
I like referencing stuff like that, without copying it slavishly, it's very fun to figure out what design elements made something work, then to attempt to repeat it, without just rehashing it- as you can see, I actually ended up with a radically-different design, on a number of fronts, but you're absolutely right, it still feels similar, because of the design concept of the paired triangular "beak" engines
The funny thing about that one was that I didn't really set out to do that at all... I was just trying to figure out how to present the engines and make the design meet the technical requirements for the animation I wanted, instead of making the design and then fitting the animation to it- that's usually the way I approach design (and, I must say, GMN and Keithus both tend to think very well about this, too, it makes working with their models a lot of fun).

Actually it reminds me more of fighters from StarFox/StarFox2 on the SNES.

I love playing that broken little ROM.

I've got proper one... that game will be released for the NDS by the way. Updated graphics but same game. :)

How did you pick up a proper one? Nintendo stopped development at a fairly early internal beta, which was leaked some time ago, but unless you've gotten the finalized game finished for the NDS, there shouldn't be a way for you to get your mitts on it.

There are quite a few different versions and I've got my hands on the one recommended for the Aeon Genesis' patch. I've finished the game and didn't feel unfinished at all. Felt more like a final beta.
Hmm we are discussing warez, this better gets back on track.

I dunno Argh, these models and whatnot are getting a bit better, Its nice to see the community joining efforts to accomplish goals and task assignments to users... (model vs skinning tasks)
maybe we can make the spring community productive afterall...

Crotch gun! :P
I need help! I can't skin simple low poly hands, the outcome is always like... crap. Current hands have 300 tris in total which is a bit much compared to the ~20 poly hands I'd like to use, although I'm under 1500 tris.

the game wudnt be "pure" with a crotch gun
anywayz like the model but arent the arms redundant if its not going to use them for firing ? (dusnt have to be humanoid dus it) or u cud replace hands with more guns
or for comical benefit the arms could support the crotch cun wen firing :D

The initial model didn't have a head nor arms and looked dull (no offense to people without arms or a head).

Argh: Nice stuff. :)
Masse: I like the second bot there, looks really cool!
Rattle: Awesome!
When it fires, make it have a pelvis thrust animation!
Finally finished the Atlas! Yay! Now I can move on to things that it can squish.

You shouldn't model the fingers unless you really need them. Use a box or something and paint the fingers on. I see a lot of unnecessary edges on the torso, you don't need to maintain edgeloops on non-organic shapes. The indents at the front shouldn't have their edges extend downward, the horizontal edge on the side is unnecessary and the edges on the top can go. Can't say anything about the back since that's not visible here.
