Nothing really new to see but since spawning units and having them battle kept me occupied for an hour I decided to make a gif video. (its so easy these days! Maybe I need a blog as well.)

u make same mistake as all beginners (including me)

ingame, ur tank will look too candy. too much smoothing usually ends badly, same as using smooth on big angles (hope u know what i mean)

1 year old stuff as example ;p check front of tank, looks badly, totally doesnt remind metal.

I never get it, texturing is one of the easiest thing, just timeeating, but hey the rewards..

I think the bad thing about texturing is not painting the textures but the uvmapping.

normally these days picasso i use unfold mapping with an angle tolerance of 0.1; gets everything nice and perfectly sized (no stretching) and then weld edges to assemble my uvmap (if you enable visible seams in your 3d view, with a little practice, this method is very easy and will yield nice results;

if you set your normals properly it would not be so bad. INBEFORE SHOW ME HOW.. I already did and you never did anything with the model.
