Ah, but they
can make Bangers and Mash cannons!
-Shotgun: burst of some number all at once
These things are the L2+ versions of flamethrower mechs, right? If so, I like this idea.

French fries? Clearly the GD would use the potatos to make Vodka!
Shotgun would be good, that could be set to have a bit more range since that'd cause less damage the further you are away.

Personaly I realy would like "Mass Driver"....

why mass driver?...
rail guns
mass drivers
coil guns
gauss guns
they are all on a fundamental level the same sort of weapon, they all use magnets to direct a projectile to great speed, it just a differentiation on the placement and manner of the magnets or magnetic fields.
the Purpose of the cannon weapon is to replicate the flamethrower weapon at lvl 2, to do this properly I believe a shotgun weapon is in order, why do you ask, well let us examine:
Flamethrower: spreads at range does most damage at short with only a few hits at long, hits multiple targets at all ranges
Shotgun: spreads at range does most damage at short with only a few hits at long, hits multiple targets at medium to long range..
So with little modification a shotgun achieves almost the same effect as a flamethrower from a balance standpoint, I could suggest that it is a submunitions rail slug and thus give it noexplode=1 meaning it will go through multiple targets doing quite alot of damage...
(Oh and KDR the weapon in earth 2160 was a gaussian beam not a gauss rifle and I believe they were entirely different from eachother.. just a note)

Do flamethrowers spread? Last I tried using one for a spreading weapon in CvC it always came out in a single focussed beam.
(The manual claims the gauss cannon is a gauss gun that has the projectile bouncing from target to target.)

its not a cannon though, and yes flamethrowers spread a bit...
It was a gaussian beam weapon..

Last night I tried my first game of EE after a long period of not playing spring, mainly because I am terrible at spring and never really got better or enjoyed playing.
I do, however, enjoy this mod alot and I have fun even when I get my ass kicked (which is every game).
So i would just like to say, SICK MOD!

That's the point. If you're having fun even when you're losing horribly, it's a good game.
