The problem isn't texture size, but the fact you use only one texture. What you should do is combine two textures using different scale (it can even be done using the same texture twice), and add a constant amount of r,g,b since such a combination will be darker by definition.

It will lose contrast, by definition, if you mix() them. But you can always multiply or add etc.
Another thing the lava shader could do with would be some kind of a real edge detection, since currently it's just depth-based, and thus fails with steep enough cliffs.

The middle bit of the frontpage is a bit rubbish, we have a lot of banners for the header background, so I thought I'd see how well they fit, I'd say they work quite well, throw in a subtitle and there's room for a proper gallery on the left or a second/bigger video:
It works a lot better on mobile too as the images are wider

Potentially it's the new ZK end-all be-all modular commander, with different bits and pieces appearing visible ingame whe you upgrade it (also ingame, no more pregame configs!).
Different colors represent module types, 5 of each. White is armor, yellow is speed, red is damage, green is regen, blue is range.
Stuff left to do: different arms (weapons, different eco-things) and backpacks (jump, shield, cloak, drone factory, etc)

It's just projectile LUPS with a ribbon, I made the texture with
http://www.escapemotions.com/experiments/flame/, Picasso made the muzzle CEG. I made the trail last basically the maximum range of the Clan ER PPC, so it lasts from barrel to explosion. Looks better in action imo.

what was my point.
Oh yes, i once suggested a similar system as shadder to draw special effects.
its basically a 2d drawing on a texture-buffer using physix as brush.. but well praised be the results,
condemned be the ways and means..
Its the LUPS cartell holding us back there.. they are everywhere- in ZK, even in JW.

i had a design in mind when i started. Thought it was something relatively fresh. Then i realized i did nearly the same thing before. So its a WIP that wont go anywhere. Plus I can“t look at it without thinking it looks like a civil airplane with those "wings".

Some few attempt at recreating OTA textures, most notable making them seamless,
I will try to use OTA palette as much as possible.
Tools used: Krita for painting and GIMP for converting
too bad that the Krita developers doesnt plan any time soon to add support for 8bit indexed image which would be cool.
once I am done recreating all the textures I will release them under CC-NC-SA or so
and the best part on using Linux is that GIMP and Krita loads much faster

A Prototype to a touchscreen start menue..
you always start it by pointing your finger in the middle, then slide along the path towards the app.. which gives the app after some markov chain calculation time to boot -> be faster .. also - the path makes detecting failures in movement easier
