Persian rugs are one of the most beautiful, useful, intricate, and durable pieces of decoration that I have had the pleasure of living with. The antique ones have a special air of history about then, and they do a lot more than just take up space.

The one pictured was woven back when people over here in the US were having a civil war. It's pretty astounding.
