Maybe if I ever get around to making a WW1 mod...
Hell yes. I'm petitioning now to be on your design team.
Awesome, I put you down for texturing.
You sick, sick puppy. Kitten. Thing.

One SNES style game coming up!

It turns out that the T-60 weapon wasn't being recognised as an AT weapon, hence the penetration formula wasn't being applied, hence it wtfpwned everything in its path. :P

Hah!

BTW, do you guys check the Bounty Source site regularly? I created some bug reports, but if that's not a good place for them I can move them to the TAU forums or here.

the t60 is sweet now. they fail head on, but if you can get them to only appear in LOS as they are moving at top speed, tank turrets turn too slowly to target them and with micro they can run circles around heavy tanks without getting hit :-)

edit; blocking footprint of all tank wrecks needs to be reduced. also, the daimer scout car(s) seem much too powerful

BountySource is a great place for bug reports. keeps things much more organized. I'm fixing the script ones you put up there as soon as I finish this post (woo for procrastination on papers).

as for the Daimler: Too powerful a gun? Armor too strong? can you be more specific?

It's entirely possible the gun is stronger than it should be, but I can't actually test things ingame at the moment (my desktop got ruined by UPS when I shipped it out here), so I can only really make tweaks if you can give me very specific problems.

Daimler should be pretty much exactly on a par with the greyhound (though less vulnerable to nades/mortar as it isn't open top)

can you PM me the addy, i forgot to favorite it.
putting certain tanks on patrol orders causes them to twitch and jink and keep turning 90 degrees and back. Also, tanks and other units target flags on their patrol and stop, not sure if its all tanks, if its not ill list the tanks that do.

the daimer scout car (the small one) weapon seems a little powerful. the larger scout car can defeat most medium tanks in 1v1, mostly due to its powerful gun but also its decent speed. it also seems a bit well armoured, considering it is wheeled and speedy; there must be some reason tank tracks are better than wheels.

coaxial MGs seem to be able to shoot in any direction regardless of where the turret is pointing.

Tracks = better off-road performance, a characteristic hard too duplicate besides giving tanks higher maxslope...

Also I tried Daimlers vs. Panthers, it doesn't seem off to me at all. At close range (basically anything under LOS) they have a chance but still very small. Whereas the Panther could easily take out a Daimler at its max range (a feat impossible for the armoured car). The only thing the Daimler has going for it is it's larger LOS -- due to the fact that it is a scout (750 vs 550, IIRC), which means theoretically it could defeat a Panther by staying outside of the Panther's LOS and pelting it for the better part of a minute. In which case, make sure you always have support units (observation infantry, halftracks) nearby!

Also, can someone go through all the sides and give a list of all units that lack buildpics? As well as build each and every unit to make sure they all show up.

Also, stress test; build max. number of barracks/yards/etc and start spamming lots of all types of units, CTRL-D bunches of stuff, have a bunch of tanks fire, etc.

There's also been a lack of feedback on side balancing... how do sides stack up against one another? Is any side overly powerful? Iv0ry, try to clone yourself and have a game with yourself.

You requested single side games. I'll do some multi-side games when I can, then.

...oh yeah. Well, that can be pretty much done with, now.

Nemo, what happened to your computer?

they probably detonated is cos they thought it was a bomb.

that actually happened to a friend of mine. she was training to be a makeup artist, and left her makeup case behind, by a park bench. (it was one of those aluminium cases) someone called the cops, cops called the bomb squad, and they blew it up... only to find the case was just full of makeup crap. even better, she realised and came back BEFORE they blew her case up, and begged them not to (i ought to mention she is as whitebread as they come) but they were like "sorry miss, at this point we have to assume its a bomb" ie "we've come all this way out here, damned if we are going home without blowing something up"

See, on the other hand, I took a black box with two red buttons on a plane in my checked baggage. One button was labeled "arm", the other "fire".

When I got to my destination, I found a nice form note saying the bag had been hand searched, taped to the black box on the top of my books.

Ah oui, but if it's a detonator, and it's in your bag, said bag is not going to explode, and whatever the detonator controls will not explode because said detonator is the bag (and not in your hand)

static MG42 gunner has a gammy leg, also he can suppress in a 360 degree arc, while having a limited fire arc for his mg.

this means he can pin down a squad of infantry he cant actually fire at :/

*edit* also the footprint is a bit too big. could do with trimming down to 2x2 instead of 3x3, so that it can be placed at the top of hills and actually shoot down the hill at units advancing up the slope.

re my last post. the static mg nests need a hard look at the scripts, there is some quite odd visual behaviour goin on there.

ive seen the panzeriii and t3476 occasionally fire a burst of two rounds, fighting eachother.
why is there nevar anyones in #s44 ?

also, i think the static sandbag MG needs to be vunreble to snipers, atm snipers do like 30 damage which dosnt make sense considering its just a boy on a bag. why is the german fixed MG so astonishingly cheap considering it probably also has the best weapon?

also, atm the germans can easily king the armoured battle every game via marders. a marder kills virtually all with one round! its very cheap and fast to get 5-10 out and put them in key spots, gg any enemy armour. all fixed guns still spin round too fast, light tanks should be able to run rings around/stomp guns if it manages to get close. light tanks themselves are perfect, when are vehicle costs going to be sorted? light tanks should be dirty cheap, i want t60 waves!

MG nest scripts were thrown together in a hurry, since I was about to leave for school. T-34 and Panzer III probably have issues either with their onlytarget tags or somewhere in their scripts. I was debating about what armor category to give MG nests - right now I think they're light buildings. it would probably be better to class them as artillery. (which are very vulnerable to snipers, but more protected from smallarms than regular inf)

My computer was heavily damaged in shipping - when I opened the box, the case of the computer had a dent about two inches deep into the side of it. the heat sink had torn straight out of the CPU.

Luckily the hard drive was fine, but it'll be a while before I have a computer that I can run spring on. and anyways, I have a lot less time for such things now, given the uni workload.
