I hate the realism that is automatically implied with everything- how does sb know the recoil of a plasma rifle? Ever fired one? A stoneage man might have critized the unrealism of our guns, as there are no strings attached to this bow. How does it arrow? Fukkin magic.


For the details- yes, dont extrude just because you can, especially if you can use texture for that, what i want to see is the behind, the reload mechanism, were is everything coming from? And how did the predecessors of that gun look? How do you imagine the next- even more Hi-Techy Cannon - and were is the Hatch the poor service mechanic gets in? If it runs with fairydust- oops nanobots - were is the feeder and energysupplyline?

It really depends on what Melvin wants to use it for.

IMO, though, the biggest concern is getting whatever it is UVmapped, textured, and ingame. You can improve on realism once you've actually done a few models from start to finish. :-)

There is a difference between "what we can do at this point in time" and "realistic".

Just because he made some kind of plasma cannon, a thing that we can't make yet in real life, it doesn't mean that it can have a bad design.

The extruding is strange, and the impact of the shot is not absorbed very well with a design like this. Even the TA plasma cannons look like they can survive the recoil, this doesn't.

This model isn't bad, but it can always get better :)

OMG Rifts! SAMAS and Glitterboy! Awesome! God dammit did Siembeda have a knack for finding awesome mech-design artists.... and God dammit was he terrible at RPG design. The setting was neato but the rules and stats were an abomination.

Very nice cannon dude, has a distinct and cool shape.
Some models you see here especially by begininers are cool but their overall shape gets lost amongst all the lines, yours however, is solid.

The back looks like a counter weight making the cannon start to look like a construction crane (to me). But every thing else looks great.

It hasn't collapsed from weight distribution problems because the laws of physics are too busy diving for cover :D
