Smoth; why would ranking insignia have anything to do with whether a unit is pinned or not?

cheverons are curved. those are down arrows. Not all people see that as military ranking. they represent pressure on the unit, one is light 2 is complete.. that is the idea.

I guess my first thought would probably be something like 'hey cool, my units are getting experienced and ranking up' rather then 'oh crap, my units are pinned and won't return fire'.

Wouldnt it be more appropriate to have a pin for the pinned down icon rather than all these ambiguous icons that could mean anything?

Actually Zsinj knows, and he even offered to texture them himself (since Spiked hates infantry apparently). I won't discuss the catch though

Spiked is also done with working with the spring engine, and will most likely not be skinning anything more for us, period.
