Spring RTS Engine

I think FF needs even more rock>scissors>paper. There are currently a lot of the ships from the same tech level described in the same way (what I suppose means they have been made to do the same thing) and that annoys me greatly because you finish up only using the better one... Either cut the excedent ones off or give em some other purpose... (some people may think that cutting the excendent ones is a bad idea, but I think not. I like games with few units but with pretty clear goals more than games with a lot of units that do almost the same thing)

LOL, there are no threads where I did anything to FF, MY FF work never started because I am not taking on two mods.

Going in your thread and saying things you do not like is not spam mate. That is me speaking out my opinion. Look it up, spam is not what I do. I offer arguments and discussion but not spam.

I am not better because I am an old timer, I am not better because I have a higher post count. I just said that you did a bad job. If you feel THREATENED by me then you need to calm down. How about you show me how much you help others? yeah you stayed to yourself in your thread and you were the only real input in FF. You only liked your play testers because they agreed to all of your decisions.

The commander is VERY powerful
whats the problem with this? Its different from other mods ok, but i like it! You can defend good against him and comm rushing is very very rare.

bullshit, the comm is soo useless players start their base and then rush the commander forward.. it happened to me at least 4 times within the first 15 minutes of the game. Sure players want something unstoppable... they will want that until it rapes their base then they complain. Your comms are overpowered and there is NO reason not to rush.. the only thing that really stops them is all the anti comm weapons.

You need to wake up and realize that is not good game mechanics. It would be better if the comm produced some good resources and was a good builder then people would have a reason to keep it but many times it is a powerful "throw away" unit for early game rush. I have seen it too many times and like I said at least 4 times within the first 15 minutes.

You accuse me of not being able to hold a normal conversation... here is a clue, my "ability" to "be nice" is called common courtesy. It is a requirement if you want people to listen to you. Although, in your case you are rude and do not listen to others. Your communication skills are sub-par and you need to stop being so derisive. If you want people to like you.

Nope, spam requires small amounts of text. It would be text without a point and I clearly have a point. Typicially it would be something akin to a useless or unneeded message. Unneeded is relative but it does not mean posts that have to do with what is currently being discussed.

If I came in and out of the blue started talking about how optimus wear a pink dress on sundays when get goes out to his local pub to by teddybears that would be a pointless message. Or saying "I like pineapples" and submitting.

Spam is pretty obvious, stuff like replying +1 to every thread available and never posting text. In this case I am not spaming because I an bringing up important points. Whether or not you, or optimus see my post as valid the others in this thread indicated a similar inclination and they backed up the thoughts I posted.

Again, just because someone doesn't like it doesn't make it spam. As far as going offtopic, again, optimus drifted offtopic and I continued the conversation in the direction it is naturally going. To me, I am very on topic as with many other threads on this forum, the topic drifted after the thread was useless.

How did the thread become useless? Opt wanted space maps, noone wanted to oblige and he started talking about something more interesting. Which is mods that is where I got interested. I personally think that space maps are asinine at the moment because they look like hackjobs and the only good one is cosmos.

However, optimus was the one who derailed the converssation and here we are now talking about the fact that he cannot understand what spam means. Why? because the topic strayed this way.

Hum... You are right about the spam (but i disagree that +1 is spam since its a sign of aprovation) but the topic handnt drifted away from more FF maps before you posted... anyway i cant blame you because optimus helped drifting the topic away from more FF maps instead of reversing engines...

We dont wanna space maps just because they look cool (for me at least), but also because the mod needs maps with more metal than normal (Optimus should probaly change that to make it easier to play other maps) and a "islands pretty far away from each other" style map to keep people from using static defenses as artillery. (Play FF on shore 2 shore... you just need to make a radar and one of those big anti-battleship defenses to win...)

Hmm, I haven't really been reading this thread. Arguments about maps for a mod I don't care about. Some of us can clean up after ourselves manored.

1. Opti is German, his native tongue is not English, and his comment about XTA was quite simply about it being included with spring, therefore anyone being able to play it whenever they wish, not stating that no effort goes into its production.

Half of the bollocks people have been sprouting here has been about that comment, and if anything they owe Optimus an apology.

2. There is absolutely no harm in asking people if they are willing to make a mod specific map, its been done for War Evo, Kernal Panic and no doubt others, and i have never seen people get so self-reichous (spelling i know ^^) over them. If you dont fancy it, then ignore the damn post, people make requests all the time and dont become blind with bloodlust in real life, so why do so here? over a map?

3. I've not played FF for a while now, and admittedly i was never overly keen on it but i didn't mind a game now and then. Every mod is balanced diffrently - i personally don't like the way either XTA, EE, or dozens of other mods play, but that is how they are designed and if other people like it so be it - stop playing his version of FF if you don't like it and leave him to get on with it perhaps, rather than acting like this?
