I thought about getting an ebook reader but I can't validate spending over a hundred bucks to be able to pay the same amount for an immaterial and non-transferable copy of a book...

So for that experience you'd ignore the fact that a tree was cut down and huge amount s of animals suffered or it?
not to mention it further contributes to the deterioration of your own planet as a life sustaining environment.

Now compare cutting a tree for making books to digging up and then disposing all that crap used to make electronic devices

I always knew there were facehuggers, but treehuggers, that must be a new species.. They plant there egss, and three weeks later, the tree screams in anguish "KILL ME" and a new creature bursts from the chest. Now i understand those forrest euthanization campaigns. Why did never ever anybody tell me that the woodpeckers are innocent?

The worst part is that they briefly grant the tree enough sentience to appreciate the agony prior to their demise.

On the other side, this creature looks like a female, so i disguise myself as a tree, plant myself in a endangered park, i might get a spare hug before she notices her mistake.
Minutes pass into hours..
..hours..into days..
Beeing back i cant recomend it, did not get any hugs by girls, but got feet watered by dogs and one leg cut off by gardener. Beeing a tree sucks. Defense is inbalanced

My Question to the sExpert. Is it Morningwood, or Afternoonwood?

more importantly, $100 on amazon = 20 books

The price is $139 actually, my version with 3G was $189. Plus 25% VAT and shipping for me. It's of course a bit of a luxury item but quite convenient if you are an avid reader, especially when traveling because I used to have to pack several books for a trip, now I only need to carry my Kindle. You can actually transfer your books to other places through your Amazon account, if you like to read on say Ipad or PC.
I also find it very nice for reading scientific papers and pdfs.
Despite the hefty cost I can't say I regret buying it. Sometimes I regret buying my $1500 HD projector because I haven't used it a lot but my Kindle I use every day on the train and before sleep so to me the investment was well worth it. The only thing that bothers me is that Amazon won't allow me into the KDK beta program although I am a software developer who owns a Kindle they don't think I'm entitled to write software for it. Right now it has basically no software. I'm also a bit annoyed there will be a new version soon that will make me want to buy it again. Sigh, life is hard eh.

$189 = 35-40 amazon books
Kindle is OK but I choose 40 books over buying a book reader.

If it matters I have at least 40 free books(classics with expired copyright) on my Kindle. If I had bought printed copies of those it would have cost me the same.

I'm with 1v0ry here, I really prefer a tangible text in general. I would, however, purchase a kindle if I could use it to peruse large amounts of research papers on the go and for cheap.
The problem there being access to those research papers.

Spoilers:
Sean Bean, again, plays a main character that dies early on, just like in LOTR...
The next 2 episodes of game of thrones should be pretty intense and turn everything upside down, if they will remain true to the chronology of the events in the book...
OMG. FUCK YOU
